So, I’m working on a new short film, mostly for my reel, It’s only going to be a few seconds long, maybe 30 or so, the main point of it is to be in my demo reel. But it’s called A Cold Revenge, about a murderer, or angry man bent on revenge, whichever way you interpret it, I left that a little open to the viewer, who attacks another man with a crowbar.
I had the idea a few weeks ago, I imaged a very low angle of a scary, angry guy, walking through the rain, and I’m leading him with the camera basically. It started raining in San Diego a week or two ago, miraculously, so I took the chance to film it, and added a few extra scenes that also looked cool from a cinematography standpoint. I put my camera on my fig rig that I built, and walked backwards as he walked towards the camera, it turned out really good. My camera was soaking wet though, but it dried out fine, it wasn’t pouring outside or anything.
The first few shots that we took actually had rain in them, which looked awesome, but then I came up with a better shot idea in a different location, and of course during those takes it wasn’t raining, so I tried to add rain with After Effects, and it doesn’t look too bad, but it makes the video clip kind of choppy, so I don’t think I’ll use it, bummer. But anyway, I’ll post it when it’s finished!
