It looks like the new all-female Ghostbusters film will be a reboot, on a totally different storyline than the originals.
Director Paul Feig said in an interview that “I thought I’d rather do it as a reboot, so I wasn’t tied to the old movies. The old movies are so good, I didn’t want to mess with them. I also want to see the beginnings of this group. I want to see people seeing ghosts for the first time, and how they are going to fight them for the first time, how they develop their technology.”
I don’t know about you but that’s pretty exciting, it’ll be refreshing to get a new storyline and characters instead of seeing another sequel made too late. I think it has the potential to be really good, and it’s sad to see backlash against an all-female cast, as I think it would be great to see.
