So the three biggest movies that opened this weekend all flopped, basically. Even big names like Sandra Bullock and Bradley Cooper couldn’t help much.
Bradley Cooper’s “Burnt” barely made over $6 Million this weekend, and was rated 29% by critics and 61% by users on Rotten Tomatoes, ouch.
Sandra Bullock’s “Our Brand is Crisis” made a dismal $3 Million and was rated 33% by critics and only 48% by users.
The lesser of the three was “Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse“, and with no big names attached, it didn’t even hit the $2 Million mark. And similar to Our Brand is Crisis, was rated 31% by critics and 58% by users.
We haven’t seen a box office weekend this bad since, well, I don’t know when. Box Office Mojo reported that it’s the slowest weekend of the whole year so far. The Martian, Goosebumps and Bridge of Spies are still in the number 1, 2 and 3 spots, respectively. But there’s been some pretty big movies released this year so far and with next week offering us the latest 007 film, the final Hunger Games film in a few weeks and the 7th Star Wars at the end of the year, it shouldn’t slow down this much again for the rest of 2015.
